News :

Shark Week 2023, the annual weeklong celebration of the top ocean predator, is just around the corner and will begin this Sunday on the Discovery Channel. According to one executive, the week of July 23–29 is essentially Discovery Channel’s “Super Bowl,” and viewers can expect to see sharks on the channel at practically any moment.

Shark Week 2023 will undergo a number of changes, one of which is the option to stream programs on Max (formerly known as HBO Max), as a result of the merger that created Warner Bros. Discovery. With his connection to the ocean, “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa is a welcome addition to this year’s Shark Week.

With a few exceptions, Shark Week 2023’s original programming will typically air on Discovery from 8 to 11 p.m. and will be available for streaming on Max at any time after its broadcast. From spooky (“Belly of the Beast: Feeding Frenzy,” “Monster Mako: Fresh Blood”) to ridiculous (“Cocaine Sharks,” “Raiders of the Lost Shark”), the titles of this year’s presentations cover the range.

Here is the complete Shark Week 2023 itinerary, complete with Discovery’s program summaries.
