Anju, a mother of two from India who moved to a remote Pakistani hamlet, has since embraced Islam, changed her name to Fatima, and wed a friend she met on Facebook, according to news agency PTI on July 25.
According to information, Anju (34), who met Nasrullah (29), a Pakistani friend, on Facebook in 2019, was residing at Nasrullah’s house in the Upper Dir province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Fatima and Nasrullah exchanged vows in front of a district and sessions judge in front of stern security.
Following Anju’s conversion to Islam, a legitimate nikkah was conducted, according to a senior officer at Moharrar City Police Station in Upper Dir district, Muhammad Wahab, who spoke to PTI.
In the presence of Nasrullah’s family, law enforcement officials, and attorneys, both appeared in court in Upper Dir, according to the police.
An Indian woman named Anju changed her name to Fatima after converting to Islam, according to Malakand Division Deputy Inspector General Nasir Mehmood Satti, who confirmed the nikkah.
