Christine Dawood News
The wife of Pakistani billionaire Shahzada Dawood, Christine Dawood, who perished on the Titanic submersible along with her husband and son, revealed the last moments before the family said goodbye. According to Mrs. Dawood, her husband and son were “so excited” to visit the Titanic wreckage on the ocean floor. Her remarks follow the US Coast Guard’s claim that the submersible experienced a “catastrophic implosion” that resulted in the deaths of all five aboard.
“I believe that after the 96-hour milestone was reached, I lost hope. At that point, I sent a message to my family on land informing them that I was getting ready for the worst. However, my daughter did not lose until the Coast Guard contacted to say that they had located the debris, Mrs. Dawood recalled the tragedy.
Christine is a coach and psychologist who is originally from Germany. Her experience escaping a nearly catastrophic plane crash in 2019—which had a significant impact on her life and altered her career—was previously detailed in a blog post.
According to Mrs. Dawood, who spoke to the BBC, her son Suleman went to the submersible with his Rubik’s Cube in order to complete it underwater in an attempt to set a new world record.
The 19-year-old submitted an application to Guinness World Records detailing his intended effort. According to the BBC, the teenager’s father even came along with a camera to record the occasion.
When Christine Dawood learned that contact had been lost, she and her daughter were aboard Polar Prince, the submersible’s support vessel. Less than two hours after making the dive into the Titanic’s wreckage, which sank in 1912, the submarine Titan vanished.
Mrs. Dawood responded, “We just embraced and joked actually because Shahzada was so excited to go down when questioned about the last moments of the family. He resembled a young child.
They were both quite excited because “he had this ability of childlike excitement,” she continued.
Mrs. Dawood expressed her happiness for the father and son team, noting that they had “wanted to do this for a really, really long time.”
Alina and Suleman were the children of Shahzada Dawood and Christine, who lived in Surbiton, Surrey.
