Govind Singh Dotasra Political Journey
Dotasra entered politics in 2005 and was successful in running for panchayat office. In 2005, he was chosen to serve as the Panchayat Samiti’s Pradhan in Laxmangarh, Sikar (Rajasthan).
When he first entered the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly race in 2008, he narrowly defeated independent candidate Dinesh Joshi for the Laxmangarh seat by 34 votes.
In the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election of 2013, he defeated former union minister of state and three-term MP Subhash Maharia by a margin of 10,723. His party, Congress, had lost more than 160 seats in the state in this election. He also serves on the Rajasthan Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee for the 2015–16 legislative year.
He upheld the real spirit of democracy while serving as the opposition whip by bringing substantial resistance to the chamber.
Dotasra engages actively in each Vidhasabha meeting. In the house, he has aggressively brought up a variety of public concerns, particularly those affecting farmers and the less fortunate. His persuasive speaking abilities, aggressive attitudes, and popularity among the populace have forced government to confront crucial concerns. With a landslide margin of 22052 votes, the biggest in the entire Sikar district, he won the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election in 2018 and completed a hat-trick of victories at the Laxmangarh seat in Rajasthan.

On March 6, 2018, Govind Singh Dotasra accepted the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly’s Kailash Meghwal’s award for best MLA. Govind Singh Dotasra was chosen by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly’s special committee as the best legislator for 2016 on March 6, 2018. Kailash Chandra Meghwal, the speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, presented him with this honour.
