Prior to this, he served as a legal investigator for the House Select Committee that was investigating the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2001.
In 1985, Childress was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from George Mason University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He enrolled in American University Washington College of Law, where he graduated in 2014 with a Juris Doctor.

Marcus is a skilled litigator and authority on in-depth research. He often advises clients on the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) enforcement procedures and has tried more than 20 criminal jury cases.
He also counsels clients on inquiries into potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), human rights issues, and other white-collar matters.
As the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the US Capitol’s investigative counsel, Marcus took more than 60 depositions and questioned major witnesses.
While working as a Special Assistant US Attorney in the Middle District of Georgia and an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the US Air Force, he oversaw more than 100 criminal investigations.
Before entering the legal profession, Marcus worked as a systems engineer with a concentration on software system requirements. Clients gain from his experience working with engineering teams on-site and creating proposals for government contracts.
Marcus is passionate about issues affecting the Black community, which is why he is the Co-Chair of the company’s DEI Protection Task Force.
