Megan Imirowicz Story, Verdict, Father, Sentence, Trial, Mother -: A Michigan teen who was convicted guilty of drowning her father in a water and lye solution will be released from detention after being sentenced on Tuesday.
In relation to the death of her father, Konrad Imirowicz, Megan Imirowicz was found guilty on June 15 of unauthorized possession or use of hazardous tools resulting in death. Judge Valentine imposed a sentence of one year in jail and five years of probation while giving her credit for the 17 months she had already spent.
“You have been held responsible for a serious crime. The court does not accept that a child of your age understood the consequences of throwing the things at your father or the harm it would do him, according to Judge Valentine.
The prosecutor, Jason DeSantis, quickly objected, arguing that the sentence was unfair and excessive given the crime for which the prisoner had been found guilty. “A terrible death took place.” DeSantis’ request for a GPS tether during her probation was also denied by the judge.
The prosecution had asked for a seven-year sentence for Imirowicz. The punishment was set at 51 to 85 months per Michigan’s sentencing guidelines, according to the prosecution.
While taking note of the arguments, Judge Valentine maintained her position. Despite this, she agreed to a mental health assessment and follow-up in six months.

At the trial, the prosecution alleged that Megan threw a solution including lye powder and water on Konrad, 64, while he was nodding off on a couch at the family’s Groveland Township residence on October 1, 2021. She was 18 at the time.
Megan allegedly drenched her father before leaving him for dead, according to police. The teenager’s friend found Konrad. Investigators then found lye powder on the couch.
Konrad was brought into the hospital that day with chemical burns all over his body, including his head and arms. Prior to being moved to home hospice care in the final few weeks of his life, he spent months in critical care.
Konrad suffered from his wounds and died on March 6, 2022. Megan was charged with felony domestic abuse and misdemeanor unlawful possession or use of harmful devices (imitation/irritants) resulting in death by Oakland County prosecutors.
Megan claimed to have thrown a bag of bread at her father in a mobile video that was submitted as evidence in court before hurling additional items in the direction of the chemicals at the end of the sofa. In a videotaped police interview, she acknowledged throwing bread and maybe water at her father.
Lye powder, a widely used cleaning agent, is regularly utilized in drains. It goes through an exothermic reaction when coupled with water, which elevates the temperature of the solution to as much as 200°F. When they breathe in the fumes from the process, they are rendered unconscious. When Konrad was discovered, he had lost consciousness and was severely burned.
Following her conviction, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald issued the following statement: “This is a terrible scenario. The defendant attacked and killed her father in a fit of rage. I salute the prosecution team for the outstanding effort they did to prosecute this case and secure justice for the victim.

Judge Valentine awarded her credit for the 17 months she had already served while imposing a sentence of one year in jail and five years of probation.
“You have been found guilty of a major offense. Judge Valentine stated, “The court does not accept that a youngster of your age recognized or understood the repercussions of throwing the objects at your father or the damage it would cause him.
Jason DeSantis, the prosecutor, immediately objected, claiming that the punishment was unjust and out of proportion to the crime for which the prisoner had been found guilty. “A horrible death occurred.” The judge also rejected DeSantis’ request for a GPS tether during her probation.
Imirowicz had been given a seven-year sentencing request by the prosecution. According to the prosecutor, the term was set by Michigan’s sentencing guidelines at 51 to 85 months.
Judge Valentine took note of the arguments, but she stood her ground. Despite this, she did consent to a mental health evaluation and reassessment in six months.

At the trial, the prosecution claimed that on October 1, 2021, when Konrad, 64, was dozing off on a couch at the family’s Groveland Township home, Megan threw a mixture including lye powder and water on him. She was then 18 years old.
Police claim that Megan doused her father and then left him for dead. The teen’s pal is located in Konrad. Lye powder was later discovered by investigators on the couch.
That day, Konrad was admitted to the hospital with chemical burns to his head, body, and limbs. He was in critical care for months before being transferred to home hospice care in the last few weeks of his life.
On March 6, 2022, Konrad succumbed to his wounds and passed away. Prosecutors in Oakland County accused Megan of felony domestic abuse and misdemeanor unlawful possession or use of dangerous devices (imitation/irritants) resulting in death.
In a smartphone video used as evidence in court, Megan claimed to have thrown a bag of bread at her father before tossing other objects in the direction of the chemicals at the end of the sofa. She admitted to throwing water and possibly bread at her father in a police interview that was taped.
A common cleaning solution, lye powder is frequently used in drains. When combined with water, it undergoes a process known as an exothermic reaction, which raises the temperature of the solution to as much as 200°F. The process produces gases that, when breathed in, knock individuals out. Konrad had lost consciousness and was badly burned when he was found.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a statement after her conviction, “This is a heartbreaking situation. In a fit of rage, the defendant attacked and killed her father. I applaud the prosecution team for the incredible work they put into this case’s prosecution and for obtaining justice for the victim.
