Melissa Barthelemy Wikipedia, Kritizia, Friend, Wiki, Serial Killer -: On July 12, 2009, Melissa Barthelemy was last observed at her home, a basement flat at 1149 Underhill Avenue in the Unionport neighborhood of the Bronx. She was 24 years old and 4 feet 10 inches tall when she was last seen.
Barthelemy was a sex worker who posted advertisements on websites like Adult Friend Finder and others. Chloe and VerySexyChloe were her aliases. On her back, her chest, and the phrases “Blaze” and “Focus” were all inked. On the West Side of Manhattan, she was rumored to meet customers at pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
Barthelemy informed a friend that she was going to meet a man on July 12, 2009, the evening before she vanished and that she would return the next day. Barthelemy did not provide any additional information, only that this friend was aware that she was a sex worker. Her mobile records indicate that she traveled, most likely in a cab, from the Bronx to Manhattan.
On July 18, 2009, Barthelemy’s mother reported her daughter missing to the NYPD after being unable to reach or hear from her for a few days. Cellphone usage was discovered in Manhattan, Freeport, Massapequa, and Lindenhurst, according to the inquiry. The motels in and around these areas were looked into.
Her younger sister started getting harassing phone calls from someone using Barthelemy’s phone after he was declared missing. These calls, which were made from the vicinity of Penn Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 8th Avenue, are thought to have originated from the murderer. Immediately after the calls, these areas were thoroughly canvassed, but no leads were generated because of the heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
During the hunt for Shannan Gilbert on December 11, 2010, Barthelemy’s body was discovered on the north side of Ocean Parkway, close to Gilgo Beach.
Despite being the first victim discovered, she is thought to be the second member of the “Gilgo Four” to have died.
The Suffolk County Police Department is still dedicated to seeing that the victims of these incidents receive justice. According to a recent announcement by Suffolk County Crime Stoppers, the reward for information leading to an arrest in this case has raised from $25,000 to $50,000.

The mother of one of the Gilgo Beach victims expresses her desire for the alleged serial killer to “suffer” while serving his sentence.
In an interview with NBC News on Friday, Lynn Barthelemy said, “I’d like him to suffer at the hands of other prisoners.” Let him get what the girls got, please.
“Death is too good for him,” Barthelemy continued. It’s too simple.
Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old Manhattan architect who resides in Massapequa Park in Nassau County, Long Island, was detained hours before Barthelemy made his statement.
More than ten years after the initial set of bones was found on Gilgo Beach in neighboring Suffolk County, Heuermann was hauled into custody. In total, 11 victims’ remains have been discovered, including the 24-year-old daughter of Barthelemy.
Heuermann was accused of killing Barthelemy as well as Megan Waterman and Amber Costello.
Upstate New York resident Lynn Barthelemy remarked, “Our family has endured every day.”
According to a bail application made public on Friday, calls made on Melissa Barthelemy’s burner phone to her family members in the days following her 2009 disappearance were among the case’s breakthroughs.
The bail application claims that the “taunting phone calls,” in which the male caller confessed to killing and sexually assaulting Barthelemy, were tracked to an area in midtown Manhattan close to Heuermann’s former office.
As previously reported by NBC News, authorities think the alleged murderer repeatedly called Melissa Barthelemy’s teenage sister following the crime.
According to Lynn Barthelemy, “We knew all along that the calls were going to be crucial.”
Sherre Gilbert, whose sister Shannan Gilbert vanished on Long Island in May 2010, was likewise quite upset by Heuermann’s arrest. In December 2011, her remains were discovered.
Gilbert told NBC News that she was “overwhelmed but relieved that they finally caught him.” It’s taken a while, but I never lost faith that justice will eventually be done.
“The suspect (Rex) deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his life,” she continued. While it won’t bring our loved ones back, it does help that one less monster is off the streets and he can no longer harm anybody else because he devastated many lives.
The families of Shannan Gilbert and Jessica Taylor’s lawyer, John Ray, expressed his “delight” at the arrest in the Gilgo Beach slayings.
In an interview on Friday morning, he stated, “Finally, the dam has cracked.
However, he asserted that he “very strongly” believes Heuermann is not to blame for all 11 deaths, including those of Gilbert and Taylor.
Ray added, “It sort of offers us a breath of relief, but it’s only partial. Unquestionably, there is a second suspect.
He stated, “There’s still a lot to be done on this.”
