In March 2019, Solomon, a former morning news anchor for Philadelphia’s CBS 3 station, will join the CNBC network. Rahel interned at CNN’s Special Investigations Unit in Washington, DC, in 2012. Rahel Solomon Career
Prior to beginning her reporting career, Solomon worked as a production assistant at NBC 10 WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. Some of Rahel’s friends who worked there saw her work and gave her the first opportunity. She has previous experience working as a multi-platform journalist for WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia. She spent two years with the Eyewitness News Team at KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado, before joining the CBS3 News team in Philadelphia.
The groundbreaking for the Divine Loraine Hotel was one of Solomon’s first jobs after returning to Philadelphia. She enjoyed working with her news team family, which included Jim Donovan, Katie Fehlinger, and Meisha Johnson, who welcomed her with open arms. Rahel is most recognized for her coverage of the 2014 Colorado floods and the James Eagan Holmes trial for the 2014 Aurora theatre shooting.
The Colorado Association of Black Journalists selected her as Broadcast Journalist of the Year in 2015. In 2017, Solomon and her co-anchor Jim Donovan participated in the “Paqui One Chip Challenge” because they both enjoy spicy food, especially spicy chips. She completed the Philadelphia Marathon in 2017 with a field of about 30,000 runners after working with a coach. Rahel likes to travel, and she has already lived and studied in several European countries. She was able to further her studies in Paris, Rome, and Salamanca thanks to the Explore the World program.
