Spencer Herron of Acworth, Georgia, was formerly a liked citizen, having owned a local business and served in the Air National Guard. The allegedly Berry College graduate then got a job teaching video production at Kell High School in Cobb County, where he won “Teacher of the Year” honors not once, but twice. He was a great mentor, by all accounts, up until June 2018, when the truth about his conduct, which included the claim that he had sexually abused at least three of his students starting in 2016, came to light.
According to court records, Spencer began emailing a female student in the summer of 2016 and asked her to meet him so they could work together on a bogus school club. According to the documentation, Spencer pretended to take her on “unsanctioned ‘field trips’,” but in reality, he was able to abuse her repeatedly throughout the academic year, both inside and outside of the university. Within months, she mustered the amazing courage to denounce him while fully committing to her college experience. In 2017, possibly around the time she graduated, the assaults ceased.
It’s crucial to remember that during the school years 2016–17 and 2017–18, Spencer is alleged to have abused two additional female students repeatedly. The former claimed to have told police investigators they had intercourse with each other after she had told him no, while the latter claimed he once commanded her to “be quiet” when she started crying. Due to the former alone, the educator’s 15-year career came to an end in June 2018, therefore it would seem that these particular cases did not get resolved. He was arrested at his home and booked into jail on a $55,220 bond.
