Walt Willey News
The return of Jackson Montgomery! On Wednesday, July 12, Walt Willey resumed his position at General Hospital in a twist that saw Lucy and Felicia traveling to Pine Valley instead of the legal eagle visiting Port Charles. This marked the triumphant return of the All My Children mainstay. Except for Lucy’s date, the ladies didn’t quite get what they expected, but fortunately, it simply means Jackson will be appearing more often!
It would be an understatement to say that lifelong All My Children and ABC daytime viewers were thrilled, as even a seasoned professional like Willey was surprised by the response!
“I am at a loss for words,” he wrote, “(a very rare condition in my case) over the outpouring of wonderful, kind, and supportive posts – here, in chat rooms, on GH’s social media – regarding my General Hospital debut. Wow, is all I can say.
“I cannot thank you all enough for loving and caring for me and ‘Jackson’ for almost 25 years on (and off!) AMC to the point that, 12 years after AMC went ‘dark,’ ‘Jackson’ — and his portrayer — still ‘have legs,'” the actor wrote in a second tweet.
As soon as the fans heard, they wished he would stay at General Hospital and possibly transfer Jackson to Port Charles. Everything from putting him with Alexis to hoping Willey would run into Anna played by Finola Hughes was on the table.
Simply responding, “We love and missed you, Walt,” Renee Glover said.
With one final tweet, Willey expressed his gratitude and promised more would follow, writing, “I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating – soap fans are the greatest fans of all! I greatly appreciate it. General Hospital on July 17 and 18, we’ll see you then.
Well, we are aware that we are not the only ones who are eager to see more! The future? Perhaps Lucy and Jackson will find true, unadulterated love in the end. Stranger things have occurred, particularly in regard to Lucy! And if she and Erica ever square off against one another over Jackson, it would be absolute perfection.
